WEDNESDAY, 2\/26\/14<\/b><\/p>\n
Well, this is a new one for us!\u00a0 Just as Judy was going out the door this morning, she got a text from an administrator announcing that school was cancelled.\u00a0 Smog!\u00a0\u00a0 It\u2019s a smog day.\u00a0 Teachers were told to stay home and post online assignments for their students.\u00a0 Lara, the first grade teacher, had been talking about setting up Skype sessions with her students, maybe even two.\u00a0 The smog readings have been high for a week, but they\u2019re supposed to go down tonight.\u00a0 A cold front is blowing in.<\/span><\/p>\n What to do?\u00a0 Just like a snow day, we take time to enjoy the morning, then we start working.\u00a0 Judy gets caught up on work she\u2019s been too busy to finish.\u00a0 Later in the afternoon, she goes up to school to do some printing.\u00a0 She has to print a color page for every student\u2019s portfolio (over 100 students).<\/span><\/p>\n While she\u2019s gone, I head out for my swim session.\u00a0 After swimming, it\u2019s back to home and work.\u00a0 No rest for the wicked.<\/span><\/p>\n THURSDAY, 2\/27\/14<\/b><\/p>\n Judy is back to the grind today, after \u201cSmog Day.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cAnnie\u201d performances are Friday and Saturday, so there are lots of little details as it comes down to the wire.<\/span><\/p>\n I\u2019m back on schedule at BHSFIC today.\u00a0 I\u2019m anticipating meeting the orchestra club after school.\u00a0 I\u2019m also supposed to meet the 10<\/span>th<\/sup> grade students in the elective music class.\u00a0 The weather is beautiful as I walk to the train.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n At school, I find out there is some kind of meeting after school, so no orchestra class after school.\u00a0 I hang around and attend the faculty meeting that I usually have to miss because of the club rehearsal.\u00a0 Not much information, except for the discussion about the new grading program we\u2019re all supposed to login and set-up.\u00a0 I\u2019ve already done it, so I\u2019m feeling \u201cahead of the game.\u201d \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" WEDNESDAY, 2\/26\/14 Well, this is a new one for us!\u00a0 Just as Judy was going out the door this morning, she got a text from an administrator announcing that school was cancelled.\u00a0 Smog!\u00a0\u00a0 It\u2019s a smog day.\u00a0 Teachers were told … Continue reading
