Judy had her first auditions today for BISS Idol.\u00a0 She had three kindergarten students perform piano pieces.\u00a0 All three students came in, very well prepared, and performed confidently.\u00a0 She was impressed with their talent, and level of preparation.\u00a0 Auditions should be interesting as the week moves on, and she hears some of the older students.<\/span><\/p>\n

My day is spent with school work and a swim session.\u00a0 The weather here is a contrast to what I\u2019m hearing about in Texas.\u00a0 North Texas is having a period of high temps, followed by abrupt drops to extremely low temps and ice.\u00a0 In Beijing, we\u2019ve had several weeks of below freezing nights, followed by daytime temps slightly above freezing.\u00a0 For a month previous to that, we had slightly colder weather, where the temp seldom got above freezing.\u00a0 The wind doesn\u2019t blow much so walking outdoors is manageable.\u00a0 Now we\u2019re seeing temps at night right around freezing, and highs in the middle 40\u2019s.\u00a0 Next week, the temps are supposed to rise to the 50\u2019s.\u00a0 We haven\u2019t had any of the extreme temperature rise and fall we\u2019re used to experiencing in DFW.\u00a0 I\u2019m almost afraid to say it, but I think the severe cold part of the winter may be over.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I was prepared for much colder weather.\u00a0 The people at BISS that kept telling us how bad it was going to be are a little disappointed that we haven\u2019t suffered more.\u00a0 It\u2019s fun to tell them how much worse it is in Texas.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
