We begin another week, counting down the days until Judy\u2019s BISS Spring Break.\u00a0 It\u2019s three weeks until we travel to Hong Kong. \u00a0I need to make plans for our tours and exactly what we\u2019re going to see and do.\u00a0 I\u2019m waiting on our new credit cards to arrive before I do much planning.\u00a0 I hope we don’t have a \u201cChina\u201d experience getting them delivered to Judy\u2019s school.\u00a0 We have three weeks to solve any delivery issues.<\/p>\n
Monday is now Judy\u2019s busiest day at school.\u00a0 She has a full day of classes, with no break.\u00a0 When she gets home, she\u2019s tired, but the day went well.\u00a0 Knowing what she was facing, she was prepared, and never looked up until it was over.\u00a0 She crashed on the couch when she got home.<\/span><\/p>\n My non-school days have settled into a schedule of watching the Beijing CCTV news, writing blog entries, organizing and developing ideas for my classes, and swim sessions.\u00a0 There is one CCTV channel that is in English, and right now there is a lot of discussion about the big meetings taking place in town, and what is being accomplished.\u00a0 Corruption in government is a huge issue, and how it is being attacked.\u00a0 They seem to be serious about solving it, but I\u2019m not sure how it\u2019s going to get done without a truly \u201cfree\u201d press, in this one-party system.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Occasionally I get a chance to watch an NBA game on the CCTV sports channel.\u00a0 It\u2019s in Chinese, so it\u2019s fun trying to figure out what they\u2019re saying with all the dunks, assists, etc.\u00a0 The most common sports they broadcast are table tennis, badminton, volleyball, and the Chinese pro basketball teams.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" We begin another week, counting down the days until Judy\u2019s BISS Spring Break.\u00a0 It\u2019s three weeks until we travel to Hong Kong. \u00a0I need to make plans for our tours and exactly what we\u2019re going to see and do.\u00a0 I\u2019m … Continue reading
