Today, we sign our apartment lease for next year.\u00a0 One of the \u201chorror stories\u201d we\u2019ve been hearing about from everyone is the problems that occur when it\u2019s time to renew for the next school year.\u00a0 I\u2019ve been dreading the negotiation process, but if we had to move, we needed to begin planning now.<\/p>\n

I contacted our agent, Lisa, asking about the renewal process.\u00a0 She got back to me a few days later with the news that our landlord would renew at the same price.\u00a0 This is great news!\u00a0 Everyone else we\u2019ve talked to is getting an increase.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our landlord arrives, on schedule, but Lisa is late. \u00a0While waiting, I find out our landlord is an opthamologist at a local hospital.\u00a0 We discuss and compare various medical profession comparisons between China & the US.\u00a0 Finally Lisa arrives, saving both of us from the strained conversation.\u00a0 The lease signing takes place, and they leave.\u00a0 Outside of the pained conversation between myself and our landlord it was a successful visit.<\/span><\/p>\n

The rest of the day is spent with schoolwork and \u201cLost\u201d episodes.<\/span><\/p>\n
