Blog #200!!!!<\/strong> \u00a0I never expected to get this far. \u00a0Some days, it’s really tough to try and make something interesting out of a boring day. \u00a0The longer we’re here, the more mundane it will become. \u00a0I’ll try to kick my life up a notch or two if it really begins to drag.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m determined to find a fan today.\u00a0 Lilly is coming around 9:30, so I plan for an early swim, followed by lunch, and a trip to Sundan in Sanlitun for a fan.\u00a0 I\u2019ve bought lots of electronic items in the past at Sundan (our clothes dryer, etc.)\u00a0 They\u2019ve got everything!\u00a0\u00a0 WRONG!\u00a0 They don\u2019t have fans.\u00a0 They tell me they\u2019ll begin to arrive in a month.\u00a0 I\u2019m beginning to fear for Judy\u2019s sanity if I can\u2019t find a fan, soon.\u00a0 We\u2019ve got 80\u2019s in the weather forecast for this week.<\/p>\n

While I\u2019m at Sanlitun, I noticed some kind of activity in the square.\u00a0 There\u2019s a big elaborate set-up for the new Captain America promotion.\u00a0 There are signs touting an appearance by Chris Evans.\u00a0 After a google search, I find out he\u2019s the \u201cstud\u201d in the movie.\u00a0 Not sure when it all happens, but there is definitely a crowd waiting for something.<\/span><\/p>\n

I head into the Yashow Market next door, looking for a couple of items.\u00a0\u00a0 Judy has been discussing my lack of a decent \u201clight\u201d jacket\u201d, and she needs a small computer rolling bag for airline travel.\u00a0 I find several rows of luggage shops.\u00a0 It seems I can buy any TUMI bag I want for around $24, and that\u2019s before I start negotiating.\u00a0 I put everyone off by telling them I\u2019m not buying today, until my wife sees the bag.\u00a0 This isn\u2019t Walmart.\u00a0 There are no returns.<\/p>\n

I find the floor with all the men\u2019s wear, looking for jackets.\u00a0 I see a few that aren\u2019t bad, stopping at a shop with lots of Polo and Armani jackets.\u00a0 I\u2019m trying to figure out what kind of price I can get.\u00a0 She says 300rmb (divide by 6 for dollars).\u00a0 I tell her I\u2019m probably not buying today, and she forces me to quote a price (jamming the calculator in my hand).\u00a0 I tell her 100rmb and I \u2018ll buy today.\u00a0 She whines and moans, and moves down to 150.\u00a0 After 5 minutes of her whining and me trying to move away, we settle on 120 rmb, so I\u2019ve got a new coat, after all.<\/span><\/p>\n

Back home I head out to Metro and make my grocery run for the week.\u00a0 This should get us through our Hong Kong trip next week.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
