Because of \u00a0time zone adjustments, Monday is a really long day.\u00a0 The flight arrives in San Francisco at 8:00 am (11 hr flight.) \u00a0The Global Express kiosks are really fast.\u00a0 The luggage, however takes 45 minutes to arrive.\u00a0 I follow the signs through customs then to the transfer desk to re-check the luggage.\u00a0 I have to go through security again to get to the new gate, and it\u2019s really slow.\u00a0 Lots of people are waiting, and not many scanners are open.\u00a0 Airports are really fun!<\/p>\n
The plane loads on-time and we\u2019re off to DFW, arriving as schedule at 4:30. While I\u2019m waiting on luggage, I \u201cFacetime\u201d Judy in Beijing.\u00a0 She had worked out the apartment issues.\u00a0 Electricity and water are not going to be cut off until Thursday, and it\u2019s scheduled to take place while she\u2019s at school.\u00a0 Whew, what a relief.\u00a0 Courtney picks me up really quickly, and we head into Dallas.\u00a0 At her apartment, we eat dinner, and then she heads back to Lewisville to attend a school board meeting.\u00a0 I get my car and drive to Fort Worth to surprise my parents.<\/span><\/p>\n When mom opened the front door, peering around to see who it was, she had a really confused look.\u00a0 I could see she recognized me, but it took her a few seconds to process why I was standing at the front door?\u00a0 Dad was in the back of the house, and had an equally confused reaction when he walked in and spotted me sitting on the couch.\u00a0\u00a0 Brad arrives about 15 minutes later, and we have a nice visit (kind of \u201cthe calm before the storm\u201d.)\u00a0 We leave around 8:00 pm.\u00a0\u00a0 I check-in to my hotel and unpack.\u00a0 Work begins tomorrow morning.\u00a0 Here\u2019s hoping I get some sleep, since morning in Beijing is just beginning.\u00a0 When we visited at Christmas, it took me 6-7 days before my body began to feel right.<\/span><\/p>\n For anyone who might be reading this, I\u2019m going to shutdown the writing until I start back to Beijing.\u00a0 Judy has full days at school all-week.\u00a0 A couple of the Australians are celebrating a birthday this weekend, so she\u2019s not going to be bored.\u00a0 I feel sure my days are going to be filled with organizing and eventually packing.\u00a0 The trailer loading and caravan departure is planned for Friday.\u00a0 I left Monday (21<\/span>st<\/sup>) open to tie up loose ends if needed.\u00a0 C\u2019mon sleep!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Because of \u00a0time zone adjustments, Monday is a really long day.\u00a0 The flight arrives in San Francisco at 8:00 am (11 hr flight.) \u00a0The Global Express kiosks are really fast.\u00a0 The luggage, however takes 45 minutes to arrive.\u00a0 I follow … Continue reading
