Judy and Shannon eventually made it to Lily Nails.\u00a0 <\/span>Afterwards, Dom, Shannon\u2019s husband, and I meet them at Homeplate BBQ in the Sanlitun area.\u00a0 <\/span>We enjoyed a fun evening of food and conversation.\u00a0 <\/span>As we were leaving, around 9:00, in walked a big group of faculty from BISS.\u00a0 <\/span>They had just left \u201cThe Local\u201d, around the corner.\u00a0 <\/span>They are definitely making a night of it.\u00a0 <\/span>It\u2019s a mix of \u201cleavers\u201d and \u201cstayers\u201d, and most of the group is leaving town tomorrow, for very scattered destinations.<\/p>\n SUNDAY, 6\/15\/14<\/b><\/p>\n Judy suffers today from post-school year-syndrome.\u00a0 <\/span>She can\u2019t get motivated to do anything but read.\u00a0 <\/span>We have a very relaxing morning and afternoon, discussing our summer plans.\u00a0 <\/span>Judy\u2019s heard it all before, but she hasn\u2019t had time to digest everything<\/span> that\u2019s about to happen, and it begins Tuesday.<\/p>\n We manage to make ourselves presentable in time to walk over to the neighborhood \u201cDuck Restaurant\u201d (I don\u2019t know the real name).\u00a0 <\/span>We meet a group of 14 BISS faculty for a big dinner.\u00a0 <\/span>Again, there\u2019s a mix of \u201cleavers\u201d and \u201cstayers\u201d.\u00a0 <\/span>We eat and talk and eat some more, for about three hours.\u00a0 <\/span>The cost for the two of us was $22 USD.\u00a0 <\/span>I still can\u2019t get used to how cheap it can be here.<\/p>\n The chef is working on one of the Peking Ducks ordered for the group. They do the trimming near the table.
