SATURDAY, 8\/3\/13<\/b><\/p>\n

We slept very sound last night, and woke up around 6:00 am.\u00a0 We\u2019re adjusting!\u00a0 Slowly get ready for the day, eating, lazing around, etc.\u00a0 We make contact with lots of family today on Facetime.\u00a0 Saturday morning between 8:00 am and 11:00 am works well for Central Time Friday evening 7 \u2013 10 pm.\u00a0 Many are home relaxing.\u00a0 Unbelievable that we can talk around the world with little or no time delay!!!\u00a0 Occasional moments of signal loss and buffering, but overall good.<\/p>\n

We finally get out of the apartment and head to BISS to attack Judy\u2019s classroom.\u00a0 She\u2019s been so busy in meetings that she\u2019s had no time to get herself settled and the room is pretty jumbled.\u00a0 We pull everything out of the shelves and start sorting \u2013 supplies, instruments, music, CDs\/DVDs\/Cassettes, etc.\u00a0 We finish around 8:00 pm and head back, feeling much better about the status of the room.\u00a0 Dinner at home and off to sleep.<\/p>\n

SUNDAY 8\/4\/13<\/b><\/p>\n

More work for Judy in her classroom at BISS today.\u00a0 She leaves around 9:00 am.\u00a0 This is her first \u201csolo\u201d taxi ride.\u00a0 I\u2019m heading to IKEA.\u00a0 We badly need a mattress pad, and I found a chair on their website that should work for my back.<\/p>\n

Judy had excitement enroute.\u00a0 The driver dropped her close to the school but on a different side and a few blocks away.\u00a0 She can tell from Google Maps where she is, and the driver has pointed her in the right direction.\u00a0 Focusing on the map as she walks, she trips and sprawls everywhere.\u00a0 Phone and bags hit the ground hard.\u00a0 She collects it all, nothing is broken, but pride is badly damaged.\u00a0 She recovers in a Costa Coffee (similar to Starbucks), then finishes the walk to school.<\/p>\n

I arrive at IKEA around opening time.\u00a0 It is already jammed with people.\u00a0 I have a \u201chit list\u201d of items and start scurrying.\u00a0 2 hours later, I\u2019m checking out with a full-length mirror, other assorted mirrors, a chair and footstool, several lamps, and a piece of paper, which I hope is the mattress pad.\u00a0 It\u2019s a full cart, and I follow signs to the delivery area.\u00a0 Very smooth operation.\u00a0 Not much of a line.\u00a0 I hand them my stuff, and a piece of paper with my address.\u00a0 I decide to have them assemble the chair.\u00a0 Delivery (same day), and assembly cost is $30.\u00a0 Wahoo!\u00a0 I head out to the taxi area with two very heavy bags, and travel home.<\/p>\n

The IKEA stuff arrives around 3:00 pm.\u00a0 Chair and footstool assembled and delivery guys gone after 20 minutes.\u00a0 I start \u201cbreaking in\u201d the chair immediately.\u00a0 After a short nap, I unpack the lamps, mirrors, and mattress pad.\u00a0 Judy gets home around 5:00 and we spend the rest of the evening experimenting with lamp placement, and installing the mirrors.\u00a0 We are ready for a new week!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
