Judy has First-Aid Class at BISS today.\u00a0 She\u2019s been whining about it all week.\u00a0 There\u2019s \u201cno rest for the wicked\u201d.<\/p>\n
Today is the BHSFIC \u201cNew Student\u201d Welcoming Reception.\u00a0 It\u2019s held in the auditorium.\u00a0 All students, 10th<\/sup> and 11th<\/sup> grade are in attendance and some parents.\u00a0 There are speeches, musical performances (some good, some not), and introductions.\u00a0 My first impression of the students is very positive.\u00a0 One of the singers forgot the words, and the student body started singing along, encouraging him to finish, clapping in unison.\u00a0 Everyone has a really positive \u201cvibe\u201d.<\/p>\n We move outside for group pictures at the end of the program.\u00a0 Parents, students, and faculty are all involved.\u00a0 The sun is bright but the heat isn\u2019t a problem.\u00a0 The high today is 77F.<\/p>\n Judy arrives not long after I do, and we begin an afternoon of relaxation.\u00a0 We\u2019ve heard about a great \u201cdumpling\u201d spot just down the street.\u00a0 When we get hungry we find it.\u00a0 It\u2019s really good.\u00a0 I think we just found our \u201clocal\u201d favorite.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Judy has First-Aid Class at BISS today.\u00a0 She\u2019s been whining about it all week.\u00a0 There\u2019s \u201cno rest for the wicked\u201d.
