<\/a>Morning sun fighting through the mist\/pollution.<\/p>\nHeavy security is again present at the terminal entrances, and boarding passes and passports are required.\u00a0Once inside I make our currency exchange from rupees to dollars.\u00a0 I\u2019m trying to hold back enough rupees to purchase a couple of my Starbucks \u201cCity Mugs\u201d.<\/p>\n We moved to the check-in area next.\u00a0Since I had done web-check-in, we were moved to a much shorter line.\u00a0 Apparently, not many people are using the web process yet.\u00a0 They made the discounted Business Class offer again, and after some debate, we upgraded.<\/p>\n The luggage gets priority tags and are the first bags off-loaded.\u00a0 Immigration and Security both have expedited queues for Business Class, and we sped through.\u00a0 In no time at all (actually it was a long walk), I was standing at a Starbucks, buying my \u201cDelhi\u201d and \u201cIndia\u201d mugs to add to the collection.\u00a0 We\u2019re now carrying 6 different models.<\/p>\n Now all we have to do is kill an hour, before boarding, and then we\u2019re off to Bangkok.\u00a0 On the plane, the seats are huge with lots of laying back room and lifted footrest options.\u00a0 The food is good, and we both agree, we could get used to this.<\/p>\n It takes a while to clear the clouds, but when we do, the Himalayan Mountains are in full view.\u00a0This is another one of those moments where I have to pinch myself (there have been several on this trip).\u00a0 I\u2019m looking at Nepal and the tallest mountains in the world.\u00a0 This isn\u2019t something I ever expected to see.<\/p>\n Arrival at Bangkok goes smoothly.\u00a0 I checked with the attendants on the plane about the best way to get into the city from the airport.\u00a0 They assured me that a taxi is the best option this evening.\u00a0 They didn\u2019t think there would be that much traffic.\u00a0 Our other option is the BTS Skytrain.\u00a0 It\u2019s cheap and there\u2019s a station close to our hotel.\u00a0But the best I can figure, the taxi will cost about $14, and we\u2019ll get dropped at the front door.\u00a0 Taxi, here we come.<\/p>\n Business Class customers have expedited lines for immigration, so it goes quickly.\u00a0 Our bags arrived fast.\u00a0 Next stop is the currency exchange.\u00a0 With everything in place, we make the walk to the taxi area.\u00a0The crowds are light and the taxi area is organized.\u00a0 Our driver doesn\u2019t really understand what I\u2019m saying, and can\u2019t seem to read the address.\u00a0There\u2019s a phone number he uses and gets the necessary directions.\u00a0 The drive takes 30 minutes, and the hotel has everything ready when we arrive.<\/p>\n Bangkok has a much different feel than India.\u00a0 The modern highways and the city streets are more organized, move quicker, and there\u2019s lots less honking.\u00a0 We have a day off tomorrow to get ourselves ready for 4 days of touring Bangkok and Chiang Mai with a flight in the middle.\u00a0 This hotel (Renaissance) is nice and we\u2019re looking forward to our stay.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The flight to Bangkok is scheduled for 2:30pm, so there\u2019s lots of time to kill in the hotel.\u00a0 We sleep late, have a leisurely breakfast, and finish up some paperwork (had to get some boarding passes printed).\u00a0 We walk out … Continue reading <\/a>We’ve spent a lot of time in this car since getting off the train in Agra.<\/p>\n<\/a>\u00a0Laksme, our driver for five of our days in India.<\/p>\n<\/a>Time to change rupees back to US Dollars.<\/p>\n<\/a>\u00a0Delhi Airport art.<\/a>This is the first time I’ve seen a UN plane.<\/p>\n<\/a>One last round of Indian food. \u00a0Love it!<\/p>\n<\/a>This is way different than 30 rows back.<\/p>\n<\/a>The Himalayan Mountain Range! \u00a0Pictures don’t do it justice.<\/p>\n
