{"id":4757,"date":"2018-12-20T17:54:02","date_gmt":"2018-12-20T10:54:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gordonandjudy.com\/?p=4757"},"modified":"2018-12-20T17:54:50","modified_gmt":"2018-12-20T10:54:50","slug":"moracea-humdrum-wednesday-12-19-18","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/gordonandjudy.com\/?p=4757","title":{"rendered":"Getting the Job Done at Moracea, Wednesday, 12\/19\/18"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today is just a repeat of yesterday, without the massages.\u00a0 Thought we were going to get a rain shower for a while, but it drifted away, leaving us with a light breeze.<\/p>\n<p>There are things to do in Khao Lak besides being super lazy.\u00a0 This area is a well-known diving area.\u00a0 I\u2019m not interested in boarding a crowded boat with a lot of people I don\u2019t know, for what might be a hot ride across a rolling body of water.\u00a0 There\u2019s an elephant sanctuary nearby, where the tourists participate in feeding and bathing the animals.\u00a0 This is different than our last visit four years ago when we watched elephants paint and kick a ball, and then rode one around a trail on a mountain.\u00a0 If there were kids along, this would be a required visit, but for us, by ourselves, it doesn\u2019t seem interesting enough to leave our loungers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gordonandjudy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-20-at-5.43.15-PM.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4755\" src=\"http:\/\/gordonandjudy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-20-at-5.43.15-PM-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/gordonandjudy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-20-at-5.43.15-PM-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/gordonandjudy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-20-at-5.43.15-PM-768x576.jpg 768w, http:\/\/gordonandjudy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-20-at-5.43.15-PM-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/gordonandjudy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-20-at-5.43.15-PM-400x300.jpg 400w, http:\/\/gordonandjudy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-20-at-5.43.15-PM.jpg 1864w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Hard at work at my Moracea job!<\/p>\n<p>Lara wandered out of the resort and into town Tuesday afternoon, and reported back that it didn\u2019t seem too interesting.\u00a0 Since we spent a week in Thailand this trip, and a total of 15 days spread out over two vacations in 2014 and 2015, the town of Khao Lak holds no allure.\u00a0 The night market in Chiang Mai would be a hard act to follow.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gordonandjudy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-20-at-5.44.45-PM.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4756\" src=\"http:\/\/gordonandjudy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-20-at-5.44.45-PM-221x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"221\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/gordonandjudy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-20-at-5.44.45-PM-221x300.jpg 221w, http:\/\/gordonandjudy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-20-at-5.44.45-PM-768x1044.jpg 768w, http:\/\/gordonandjudy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-20-at-5.44.45-PM-753x1024.jpg 753w, http:\/\/gordonandjudy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Screen-Shot-2018-12-20-at-5.44.45-PM.jpg 1028w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 221px) 100vw, 221px\" \/><\/a> Lunch on the beach. \u00a0The sun was brighter today so I had to break out the hat!<\/p>\n<p>Evening dinner provides a chance for us to experiment with some different Thai foods.\u00a0 I\u2019m beginning to enjoy the different curries, although I\u2019m not sure I can taste the difference between the yellow, red, and green varieties.\u00a0 There\u2019s a Thai guitarist\/singer tonight in the restaurant.\u00a0 As we came down the stairs to eat, we could here him singing Johnny\u2019 Cash\u2019s \u201cRing of Fire\u201d.\u00a0 He had a couple more Cash favorites, as well as Eric Clapton, the Beatles, and the Eagles.\u00a0He handled it all pretty well, and added to the evening experience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today is just a repeat of yesterday, without the massages.\u00a0 Thought we were going to get a rain shower for a while, but it drifted away, leaving us with a light breeze.
