I woke up wondering what new banking adventures I would have today.\u00a0 I login and I can still access my account.\u00a0 That\u2019s a nice improvement over the last few days.\u00a0 Today is haircut day!\u00a0 Judy and I both have appointments.\u00a0 I ride in the taxi with Judy to her salon, and then walk over to mine, several blocks away.\u00a0 I can get used to this kind of the fancy treatment at the salon, and the haircut is really good.\u00a0 After a \u201cbefore and after\u201d shampoo (head massage), I\u2019m looking for adventure.<\/p>\n
I head toward a nearby golf course, curious about what I\u2019ll find.\u00a0 It\u2019s a small course, with 9 holes.\u00a0 The driving range is two-stories, and surrounded with netting.\u00a0 There are enough spots for 60-70 golfers at one time.\u00a0 The course looks short on the scorecard, but all the yardages are marked in meters, not yards.\u00a0 It might take me some time to work out the distance conversions to my clubs.\u00a0 At least I\u2019ll have an excuse when my clubs finally do arrive.\u00a0 There are no carts, but caddies are available.\u00a0 As I\u2019m watching, all the groups coming through have caddies.<\/p>\n
I picked the wrong subway station when I was looking for the golf course, and ended up walking much further than expected.\u00a0 Now I\u2019ve decided to reward all my walking with Mexican food from QMex, near Sanlitun.\u00a0 It\u2019s another long walk, but worth it.\u00a0 I check in with Judy who still needs a large digital clock in the bedroom, so I head to Sanlitun to see if I can find one.\u00a0 I keep getting referred to the Yashow Market.\u00a0 I\u2019m not anxious to fend off those sales people, but I need an excuse for my Sanlitun excursion besides Mexican food.<\/p>\n
I find the clock we need, and after bartering in three different shops, I get a price I can live with.\u00a0 I take the train back, still requiring a lot of walking.\u00a0 Today is probably the longest walking distance I\u2019ve covered since we arrived in Beijing.\u00a0 I\u2019m tired when I get home, but a nap quickly gets my energy back up.\u00a0 Judy has spent the afternoon doing schoolwork.\u00a0 When I wake-up, I start making sure my classes for tomorrow are ready to go.\u00a0 Tomorrow is the first \u201corchestra\u201d class I\u2019ll have, so I\u2019m really anxious how it\u2019s going to work out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
