More meetings are held today with the accreditation team at BISS.\u00a0 Judy is considered MYP (middle years program), and also PYP (primary years program).\u00a0 She gets to attend meetings for both levels.\u00a0 How fun!<\/p>\n
She\u2019s been busy getting ready for the holiday season.\u00a0 The choir at BISS is already scheduled for two performances at local hotels.\u00a0 They\u2019ll be performing at a Rotary Club benefit at one site.\u00a0 At the other, they\u2019ll be performing at a tree-lighting .\u00a0 She\u2019s scrambling trying to find where to buy antlers and elf hats.\u00a0 She thinks she\u2019s found a source, but until it arrives, you\u2019re not really sure.<\/span><\/p>\n The school is decorated for Halloween, and the music classes are singing \u201cPumpkin\u201d songs.\u00a0 Judy\u2019s years of experience are really paying off.\u00a0 She\u2019s got so many fun things to do with the students that none of them have ever seen before.\u00a0 Students and faculty are all humming and whistling the new stuff.<\/span><\/p>\n BHSFIC is gearing up for mid-term tests.\u00a0 It\u2019s very serious for the students, and they are having problems staying awake in classes (not just my classes, according to the other teachers).\u00a0 Sunday is a make-up day from a holiday earlier in the semester, so testing will begin Sunday.\u00a0 It continues Monday and Tuesday.\u00a0 The students will meet regular classes on Wednesday and Thursday.\u00a0 Friday, all the 11<\/span>th<\/sup> graders will participate in a team-building activity on a \u201cropes-course\u201d outside of Beijing.\u00a0 For me, I\u2019ll only have one class next week, unless I decide to accompany the group on their trip.<\/span><\/p>\n My arrangement for the flute\/sax quartet works pretty well.\u00a0 Now all I need is to arrange one more ensemble for my brass players and two left-over saxes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Today\u2019s \u201cfun\u201d is mostly associated with my travel.\u00a0 The trains are really something today.\u00a0 Twice, the trains just quit running and everyone stood patiently waiting for them to start up again.\u00a0 The first time I was on the platform, and the 2nd<\/sup> time, I was on the train.\u00a0 We were jammed like sardines, and must have waited 15 minutes before we moved.\u00a0 All you can do is look around and grin.\u00a0 You can\u2019t move anywhere.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t even get off the train.\u00a0 Since the doors remained open, new passengers kept walking up and pushing their way on.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0The trains normally run every 3 minutes during \u201cprime time\u201d, so you can imagine how passengers were anxious to board.\u00a0 I was never so glad to see my station tonight.\u00a0 My McDonald\u2019s ice cream tasted really good on the walk home from the station.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" More meetings are held today with the accreditation team at BISS.\u00a0 Judy is considered MYP (middle years program), and also PYP (primary years program).\u00a0 She gets to attend meetings for both levels.\u00a0 How fun!
