Judy gets off to school, finally feeling normal again.\u00a0 She\u2019s just worried about having time to finish up the computer work she wasn\u2019t able to complete this weekend (bad internet).<\/p>\n

I have decided today is the day I\u2019ll be breaking out my golf clubs.\u00a0 Everyone keeps telling us that it\u2019s about to get really cold, and will stay that way until March.\u00a0 If I\u2019m going to play golf, it\u2019s now or never.\u00a0 The weather is supposed to be nice and warm today (mid 60\u2019s) with low winds.\u00a0 The pollution index reading is 317, the highest we had in Beijing, but I haven\u2019t noticed any issues for myself relating to the pollution.\u00a0 I call and get a tee-time (no small accomplishment, considering the language barrier).\u00a0 I find the address on my \u201cTaxi Card\u201d app, and it\u2019s only about a 15-minute drive.\u00a0 I arrive in plenty of time to loosen up on the driving range.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are no riding carts for golfers on this course, so I\u2019ll be walking.\u00a0 Thankfully, caddies are available (they may be required, not sure).\u00a0 It\u2019s not crowded, and the course is very short. It\u2019s only nine holes.\u00a0 There are six par-3\u2019s, and three par-4\u2019s.\u00a0 It only takes an hour to play the course, so we go around again.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve never had a caddie before, so I\u2019m lovin\u2019 it.\u00a0 He doesn\u2019t speak English, except to say \u201cnice\u201d, or \u201cgood shot\u201d.\u00a0 If he knows any negative phrases, he\u2019s at least smart enough not to use them.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t give him too many chances for bad phrases today.\u00a0 I hit the ball really well, but my putting was not good.\u00a0 For those of you who might be interested, I shot 11 over.\u00a0 Considering I haven\u2019t <\/span>walked<\/span> a golf course in 11 or 12 years, I did pretty well.\u00a0 I\u2019m tired, but it\u2019s a \u201cgood\u201d tired.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
