MONDAY, 11\/25\/13<\/b><\/p>\n
We\u2019re beginning to settle into a routine of sorts.\u00a0 Monday thru Wednesday, Judy is teaching and planning.\u00a0 I\u2019m class planning, grocery shopping, and lately, I\u2019ve been exploring Beijing markets.\u00a0 Judy wants to do a little shopping on the weekends.\u00a0 We\u2019ve visited several different market areas, but it\u2019s easy to be overwhelmed when there is so much to see.\u00a0 We\u2019ve been running out of energy before we could get to the end of the shops.\u00a0 I\u2019m looking for places for Judy to shop where we can be productive with our time.<\/p>\n
That was my duty for the day.\u00a0 I went out to a market we hadn\u2019t visited before.\u00a0 It was next door to a really upscale mall area (Apple Store, Cartier, etc.)\u00a0 It had several different buildings and was full of vendors selling the same stuff, row after row.\u00a0 Had a really cheap noodle lunch in the food court, and did some more looking.\u00a0 On my way home, I stopped at the National Center for the Performing Arts.\u00a0 The design is supposed to be \u201cstate of the art\u201d, and architecturally unique.\u00a0 It\u2019s closed on Mondays so I got back on the train and headed home.<\/span><\/p>\n TUESDAY, 11\/26\/13<\/b><\/p>\n Judy gets up late.\u00a0 She just kept pushing the snooze, so it was a frantic departure.\u00a0 At 6:55 every morning there is a line of taxis waiting on customers.\u00a0 By 7:00, the taxis are gone, and there is a line of people waiting for one.\u00a0 She walked out at 7:05, and paid the price with a long wait for a taxi.<\/p>\n I spent the day working on class plans, and looking ahead to our upcoming trips to Sanya, China, the US, and Phuket, Thailand. \u00a0I\u2019m just making sure I haven\u2019t forgotten something (visa issues, etc.)\u00a0 Everything seems to be in place.\u00a0 I\u2019m also looking for ideas for our April holiday.\u00a0 We have 5 days we can travel.\u00a0 Kyoto, Japan, and Hong Kong are at the top of our consideration list.<\/p>\n WEDNESDAY, 11\/27\/13<\/b><\/p>\n Today is a smooth day at BISS, with nothing out of the ordinary.\u00a0 Since the \u201cClue\u201d game is completed, everyone is working toward the upcoming holiday.\u00a0 Judy has a choir rehearsal today, preparing for their concert next week at a hotel tree-lighting ceremony.<\/p>\n The weather is really cold today.\u00a0 It was 25 degrees when Judy left this morning.\u00a0 The wind is blowing 20 to 25 mph, so the chill factor is pretty low.\u00a0 I go out this afternoon looking for a few groceries.\u00a0 I walked to Carrefour, down the street.\u00a0 I hadn\u2019t been there in over a month.\u00a0 I\u2019m looking for \u201cHoney Bunches of Oats\u201d cereal.\u00a0 It was available at both of our regular grocery markets until the last two weeks, and then it disappeared.\u00a0 I found it.\u00a0 Guess I\u2019m going to have to add Carrefour back into my grocery store rotation.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" MONDAY, 11\/25\/13 We\u2019re beginning to settle into a routine of sorts.\u00a0 Monday thru Wednesday, Judy is teaching and planning.\u00a0 I\u2019m class planning, grocery shopping, and lately, I\u2019ve been exploring Beijing markets.\u00a0 Judy wants to do a little shopping on the … Continue reading
