After my brief walk-around, I decide to walk by Tian\u2019anmen Square, and the Forbidden City.\u00a0 We haven\u2019t taken an official tour, but I can\u2019t come to the US, and not have at least laid eyes on these places.\u00a0 They\u2019re next door (it\u2019s actually a pretty long walk, the blocks are really big around here).\u00a0 I go through an ID checkpoint, first, and then later, my bag goes through an x-ray machine.\u00a0 There\u2019s a lot of security in the area.\u00a0 The British Prime Minister has been here for two days, and VP Biden is coming in tomorrow.\u00a0 The Chinese don\u2019t want to take any chances on protests, bombs, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n It\u2019s quite a sight.\u00a0 Tian\u2019anmen Square is huge.\u00a0 There are visitors everywhere, but the site is so big.\u00a0 Very impressive!\u00a0 I finish up, and walk further down the road to Wangfujing Street.\u00a0 It\u2019s a famous street where you can eat scorpions on a stick, snails, pig entrails, donkey meat, and many other delicacies?\u00a0 It\u2019s really interesting, but for some reason, I\u2019m not hungry this afternoon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Judy\u2019s bus issues are solved.\u00a0 Thank goodness!\u00a0 She called and let me know that all approvals were done and the buses are scheduled.\u00a0 WHEW!\u00a0 She also successfully turned in all our travel paperwork and forms for reimbursement\u00a0 half the taxes … Continue reading ![\"Tian2\"](\"http:\/\/gordonandjudy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/Tian2.jpg\")
