SATURDAY, 1\/4\/14<\/b><\/p>\n
We woke really early (around 2:00 am), thanks to jet lag.\u00a0 Judy begins to unpack the bags.\u00a0 I start planning grocery shopping, but my plans never materialized.\u00a0 We are both moving really slow.\u00a0 Energy levels are really low today.\u00a0 We eat, sleep, snack, and sleep some more.\u00a0 It takes Judy most of the day to get everything put away.\u00a0 I\u2019m beginning to plan the summer visit of our kids to Beijing.\u00a0 We\u2019re working on our entire summer schedule, including a possible cruise, and a trip back to the US.\u00a0 Living in China complicates things a little since some websites don\u2019t work here.<\/span><\/p>\n I decide to order a pizza.\u00a0 There are language issues when I try to give them our address.\u00a0 I thought I did okay, but the pizza arrives two hours later, after numerous update phone calls.\u00a0\u00a0 It didn\u2019t stop us from eating it, however.<\/span><\/p>\n Several times during the day I received calls from United Airlines verifying we were missing luggage (our missing luggage paperwork was handled at the airport by Air China).\u00a0 The second call was telling me they would deliver it when it arrived.\u00a0 I asked it if had been found, but language issues kept me from getting a straight answer.\u00a0 Just as I was about to go to bed (around 9pm) we get a knock on the door.\u00a0 Our luggage has arrived.\u00a0\u00a0 Whew! \u00a0Relief!<\/span><\/p>\n SUNDAY, 1\/5\/14<\/b><\/p>\n This jet lag is killing us.\u00a0 It seems to be affecting me worse than Judy.\u00a0 I can\u2019t seem to sleep past 1:00 am.\u00a0 Then I\u2019m up until noon when I need a nap.\u00a0 It\u2019ll be nice when my body adjusts.\u00a0 Judy finishes unpacking our newly arrived bag, then begins class prep for tomorrow.\u00a0 I make the walk to Metro for groceries.\u00a0 I found the Haagen Dazs stash.\u00a0 Yum!\u00a0 Back home, we unpack, and eat the ice cream.\u00a0 Still can\u2019t seem to get my body on track, so I take another nap.\u00a0 I wake up just in time to go to bed.\u00a0 I\u2019m glad I don\u2019t have students tomorrow.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" SATURDAY, 1\/4\/14 We woke really early (around 2:00 am), thanks to jet lag.\u00a0 Judy begins to unpack the bags.\u00a0 I start planning grocery shopping, but my plans never materialized.\u00a0 We are both moving really slow.\u00a0 Energy levels are really low … Continue reading
