Smog is the center of attention today.\u00a0 I woke up at 1:00 am, and noticed how \u201cfoggy\u201d everything was outside.\u00a0 I checked the \u201cCN Air Quality\u201d app and it read \u201c605.\u201d\u00a0 That\u2019s the highest rating we\u2019ve seen since we\u2019ve been here.\u00a0 We hadn\u2019t seen anything over 500, and only then for an hour or two, before a front blew in and dropped it below 100 six hours later.\u00a0 When I woke up later at 6:00 am, it was down around 550.\u00a0 The pictures below were taken around 9:00 am from our apartment window.\u00a0 The smog count was around 480.\u00a0 I also posted some \u201cbefore\u201d pictures, taken when the smog reading was below 100.\u00a0 There is lots of talk on CNN and the local CCTV about the smog.\u00a0 It\u2019s not going unnoticed.<\/p>\n

The rest of our schedule is pretty much the same as the rest of the week.\u00a0 Judy is working hard at school.\u00a0 I\u2019m eating, writing, planning travel, etc., etc, etc.\u00a0 I brought home food from \u201cAvocado Tree,\u201d a Chipotle copy.\u00a0 The burrito bowls were great, and I even brought home some chips and queso.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the travel planning, I\u2019ve confirmed our summer airfare.\u00a0 We\u2019re going to end up flying around the world.\u00a0 We\u2019re leaving here and flying to Warsaw\/Amsterdam for a cruise.\u00a0 After the cruise, it\u2019s Amsterdam to DFW.\u00a0 After a good visit in Texas, we\u2019re flying back to Beijing for Year Two on our Asian teaching adventure.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
